Linda and Lou have been known as "Ma and Pa Trauma" to hundreds of therapists they have trained. Their success in the development of trauma therapy arose from their rich background in the science and art of psychotherapy. He was a psychiatrist for 50 years; she has been an art therapist for 40. Their earlier interest in the treatment of psychosis advanced in the 1980's to the treatment of trauma. This book describes what they learned about trauma and about the verbal and nonverbal brains. Their brain-based understanding of traumatic memory and dissociation inspired the development of methods and procedures for rapid and comprehensive treatment of PTSD. These methods make it possible to safely depart from the conventional "go-slow" approaches and deal with the cause and cure of post-traumatic conditions. Their book offers treatment guidelines for each trauma-related DSM diagnostic entry.

The Instinctual Trauma Response And DualBrain Dynamics A Guide for Trauma Therapy Louis Tinnin MD Linda Gantt PhD 9780985016227 Books Reviews
This book explains why just talk therapy hasn't worked and won't work for 90% of the people paying for it for years. Trauma can be processed easily and this book explains it. It's a relief for therapists to know, it's not them. It's the training they have had is flawed and we need to teach this. Trauma is an epidemic and can it's symptoms can be healed in minutes. Everyone in the industry needs to read this book.
Time to really help people!
This book is a must-read for everyone, especially people looking to understand the role of trauma in their lives and the lives of others. The authors, Louis Tinnin and Linda Gantt, have made this book readable for the lay person. As a survivor of infant surgery without anesthesia, their knowledge is helping me heal from pre-verbal trauma. Readers come away with a deep understanding of the trauma response in humans and the ways to heal from PTSD, dissociation and other difficulties. If society as a whole understood the authors' concepts, there would be a whole lot more potential for healing and harmony in this world.
This is an informative and interesting process for trauma patients. I plan to call the Center for more info on their treatment protocol.
