As always I am deeply impressed at Weil's story-telling ability - his books invariably lead the reader to become so engrossed in his stories and characters that everything else has to wait until the book has been finished. The Star Cross series is just like that - my regular chores around the home went on pause while I became increasingly engrossed in the story - I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.With the Destroyers of Worlds aka the Vorn gobbling up whole civilisations, it is left to Protector World, Lakiam to try and stave them off. But can they do it alone or will they be wiped out by the Vorn? Meanwhile, Fleet Admiral Vickers, increasingly aware of the potential threat the Vorn pose in Humanities neck of the woods, sets out to discover an ancient race who may be able to aid not only Humanity, but the rest of the galaxy.
With tense action and battles, great characters and a well-oiled plot, you can't go past this fantastic book (and series) - highly recommended. Looking forward to next book in the series :)

Another great book in the fine tradition of this author. Lots of epic space battles and of course the humans come out on top. Great read for me.
The best yet the series is coming along nicely love how admiral Vickers obtains new tech for earth and newton please continue the series this one was a great read,
A great series, I have read them all and the story continues with plenty of action & battles, A bad master race who you learn quickly to hate who are eating the population and must be stpped at all costs. This book brings then nose to nose and the tide may be starting to turn but we have a long way to go..
Raymond Weil does it again. He develops a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Can't wait for the next book in the series
Yes… the Star Cross series needs to continue!!! Good grief! The good guys are home and at peace… for the moment… But the bad guys are still out there and need to be dealt with! How are you going to end it? Drive them to another galaxy? (Terrible… I don’t think the enlightened ones would like that… after all… do you just want to push your problems off onto someone else… that doesn’t sound very “enlightened” to me.) Or terminate (genocide) the species? (That doesn’t sound very enlightened either.) So go for it Raymond… lets see how creative you can really be… I’ll buy book 4 and probably 5 too… For now I’ll assume that you’ve realized the challenge that you’ve created and I’ll be looking forward to seeing how you’ve handled it.
If you have read the first two books of this series you know that this story is addictive. However you don't need to read the earlier ones to follow this story but it will help with recognising the characters. I think this is actually the best book in the series because of the focus on defeating the superior enemy and wonderful battle descriptions. I Felt as though I was there. A great book and I am looking forward to future ones.
I wasn't expecting the story to go so fast, yet steady, so i finished the book yesterday. I like when a story isn't wasting time on
a lot of unnecesary descriptions, monologue, dialogue and too much insight into the characters' lives. Every chapter finished off
with only a jump space between the separating parts of the text, which i liked. The characters were real to me. They all had their
own lives, families, hopes and dreams. On the other hand, though, i had a hard time taking some of the aliens seriously. I mean,
an alien race that reminds me of wasps or whatever kind of insect they may resemble... I thought it was silly, even though there
might possibly be similar creatures in our real universe, who knows. Prince Brollen, for example. i am not saying that i was fully
detached from his personality and goals; they were okay. On the inside he's a completely fine character, but that wasp-description?
Na, i suggest Raymond try to create something a little more original, even though i am fully aware of how difficult that is. This book
was an easy read simply because of the fact that Raymond doesn't go into too much detail about the technology. I've read some
SF books that were heavier and harder to grasp. The Star Cross is an excellent science fiction novel for anybody who's a fan of
Star Wars, Star Trek or anything of that sort. I found this book inspiring because it made me feel like anybody can become an
accomplished, accurate space writer!
